United We Lunch event in Owen Sound aims to raise money for school lunch programs

A family PD day event in Owen Sound will be raising money to support school lunch programs.

United We Lunch will host the event in support of OSHaRE on Friday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the QYC Fun Factory in Owen Sound.

The event will raise money for local school lunch programs, while also teaching parents and kids the importance of nutrition in kid's lives.

Guest speaker Jackie Ralph of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) will lead a discussion on empathy and understanding food insecurity.

Tickets to the event are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and cash and debit or credit are accepted.

"We wanted to create an event that not only gives back, but also sparks meaningful conversations at the family level," said Deb Shaw, Event Coordinator. "When children and parents learn together about nutrition and empathy, it creates lasting impact well beyond the lunch table."

Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/united-way-of-bruce-grey/events/united-we-lunch-a-fun-meaningful-kids-event/.
