Huron County Ontario Provincial Police officers will now have body-worn cameras (BWC).
Each officer will wear the camera on the front of their vest, which will be clearly visible to anyone they interact with. If the camera displays a green ring with flashing lights, it's in standby mode. The camera will flash red when it is recording.
Huron County OPP recently rolled out in-car cameras (ICC), which incorporated an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, as part of the detachment's dedication to proactive, innovative policing
"The OPP is committed to adopting tools and technologies that improve the quality of evidence, enhance accountability and transparency, and ultimately support the safety of both the public and officers in the communities we serve," stated a media release from the OPP.
