Stratford police have begun collecting toys and non-perishables for a pair of community groups to distribute to those in need over the holidays.
The annual stuff-a-cruiser campaign kicked off over the weekend and will continue with collections at eight other locations in Stratford, St. Marys, and Perth South over three dates. All items donated will go to the Stratford House of Blessing Food Bank and Salvation Army of Stratford.
"The Stratford Police Service is excited to be supporting the House of Blessing and the Salvation Army with our Stuff-A-Cruiser campaign once again and are looking forward to seeing the amazing support that our community members provide each and every year," police said in a statement.
The next stuff-a-cruiser toy drive is planned for Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. outside of the Walmart at 920 Ontario Street in Stratford and the Canadian Tire at 1093 Ontario Street in Stratford.
On November 29 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., police will host food drives in Stratford at the Zehrs at 865 Ontario Street, the No Frills at 618 Huron Street, the Sobeys at 581 Huron Street, and the Walmart at 920 Ontario Street.
The final food drives will take place in St. Marys on December 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Your Independent Grocer at 780 Queen Street East and at the Foodland at 84 Wellington Street.
