Man charged after gunfire heard in Northern Bruce Peninsula

A 59-year-old man is facing charges after gunshots rang out in Northern Bruce Peninsula late Tuesday night.

Grey Bruce OPP were called to the area of Cape Chin South Road just before midnight to investigate a report of suspected gunfire and a suspicious vehicle.

Officers stopped a vehicle that matched the description provided. A firearm was found inside the vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported in relation to the gunfire.

Charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, and driving with liquor readily available have been laid against a 59-year-old from Neyaashiinigmiing. The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Owen sound court in relation to the charges on December 11.
