Huron County accepting grant applications for youth programs

The County of Huron’s Economic Development Department has opened up applications for its Supporting Local Youth Program, which offers grants up to $1,000 for youth-led initiatives and activities in Huron County.

Eligible projects are youth-led and provide opportunities for Huron County teens between the ages of 14 and 19.

Projects should target priority areas such as Community Connectedness, Creative Expression, Social Justice Issues or more.

"The Supporting Local Youth program supports Council’s priority of youth engagement and helps teens and young adults kick-start their ideas and projects for the benefit of their local community," says Vicki Lass, Director of Economic Development in a release. "We’re very pleased to offer a program that increases opportunities for youth in Huron County."

The county says applications will be assessed and awarded on a merit basis by a panel of representatives from the economic development board and community youth.

Funding applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on November 15, 2025.
