Victoria Jubilee Hall is gearing up for a packed season of live entertainment, starting this September with the return of a beloved Canadian theatre classic.
On Sunday, September 21, at 2 p.m., audiences can enjoy Wingfield Inferno, the latest instalment in the long-running Wingfield series. The story follows Walt Wingfield as he leads efforts to rebuild the Orange Hall in Larkspur after a devastating fire. Actor Rod Beattie brings the entire cast of characters to life single-handedly through changes in voice and expression.
"It’s hilarious and relatable, and audiences have been in love with the Wingfield plays for over 40 years," said volunteer Joanne Sutton. "It’s a rare treat to see it performed live."
Tickets for Wingfield Inferno are $50 and available at ticketscene.ca.
The fall performance also launches the hall’s full season series, featuring five shows running through March. October brings Listen to the Music, a Doobie Brothers tribute with some of Canada’s top musicians. In December, the hall welcomes two shows: award-winning indie artist Aysanabee, followed by a festive performance from The Fitzgeralds, who will deliver their energetic mix of fiddling and step-dancing in a Christmas-themed show.
The season wraps in March with After the Gold Rush, a Neil Young tribute that channels the iconic sound of his early years.
Season passes are available for $180, offering all five shows for the price of four.
