Walkerton financial institution workers threatened

A 42-year-old Arran-Elderslie resident is facing charges after a threatening phone call was made to a financial institution in Walkerton.

South Bruce OPP were called to the unnamed institution just before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers confirmed a person had phoned the location and threatened to harm the employees inside.

No other details about the threat were released.

All employees were determined to be safe, police said.

An Arran-Elderslie resident is charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing, police said.
