Town of Minto to host Harriston Street Party

The Town of Minto will be hosting a big family friendly event this weekend.

On August 9, the Harriston Street Party will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Elora Street, between Arthur Street and Mill Street, will be shut down to host numerous attractions.

That includes the Leslie Motor’s Classic Car Show, special deals by local businesses, and lots of food options.

Maitland Street will feature a kid's fun zone, and in addition to the Minto Makers’ Market held in Tannery Park, the Minto Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Summer Youth Market in the back parking lot of the Old Post Building.

The Harriston Historical Society will also be hosting their annual fundraiser BBQ, and the Harriston Legion will be hosting its annual breakfast. Later at 7:30 p.m., the legion will host a parking lot party.

"We’ve packed a whole lot of summer fun into one incredible day," said Marketing and Community Development Coordinator, Erin Raftis. "Whether you’re coming for the cars, the kid’s activities, the food, or the shopping, there is something for everyone to do!"
