Fire ban issued in Lucknow and Huron-Kinloss

A partial fire ban has been issued in Lucknow and Huron-Kinloss.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss says that effective immediately, a partial open air ban for all open-air fires is in effect.

This is due to what the municipality is calling "extreme temperatures, lack of substantial precipitation, and an unfavorable long-range weather forecast."

The ban includes but is not limited to burning of brush or yard waste, trees or wood debris, old farm buildings, or other structures and burn barrels.

All Open-Air Burn Permits are suspended until further notice. However, beach fires with approved permit and small, contained recreational fires used for warmth or cooking are permitted only in approved fire pits.

The partial ban comes after Huron County implemented an open burn ban on Tuesday.
