Update: air quality advisories lifted

Smoke from wildfires continued to cause issues with our air quality over the long weekend.

A special air quality statement was in effect for midwestern Ontario, but was lifted on Tuesday morning.

As smoke levels increase, so do health risks.

Common symptoms of smoke exposure include eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches, or a mild cough. More serious ones include wheezing, chest pain, or severe cough. If you experience those symptoms or believe you are having a medical emergency, seek medical help immediately.

Environment Canada recommends limiting activity outdoors when wildfire smoke levels rise.
