Work to rid Georgian Bluffs of poisonous and invasive plants is now underway.
A contractor with the township began the task on Wednesday of managing vegetation that grows along roadsides in accordance with the noxious weed control program. The program targets harmful plants such as wild chervil, poison ivy, and giant hogweed. All three weeds pose a risk to either humans or other vegetation in the region.
The work is expected to continue through July 18, weather permitting.
Township officials ask anyone who knows where noxious weeds are present in the region to report the spots so they can be added to the 2026 weed control program. Reports can be made to the township online by clicking here.
