Port Elgin library scores 3D printer

The Bruce County Public Library branch in Port Elgin is now equipped with its own 3D printer.

Local businessman Peter Stanley donated the cutting edge technology to the library. It offers significantly faster printing speeds,

built-in camera capabilities for recording the printing process, and user-friendly software for enhanced accessibility.

Stanley's business LSES Consulting Inc specializes in data efficiencies and visualization with extensive experience in 3D design and prototyping. He said he hopes his donation will help expand creative and educational opportunities for library-goers.

"I've seen firsthand how powerful these machines can be," said Stanley. "They foster creativity and offer solutions to problems once thought unsolvable. A dedicated printer to Port Elgin will ensure continuous availability and encourage community engagement."

Free training on how to use the 3D printer is being offered in the library branch through Niche Academy.
