OLG issues payments to Hanover and Central Huron

Hanover and Central Huron have received some hefty payments as part of their hosting agreements with Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

OLG has issued fourth quarter payments to both communities. Hanover received a payment totalling $276,027 for hosting Playtime Casino Hanover. Since the gaming site opened in February 2001, Hanover has received $24,035,506.

Additionally, a payment totaling $153,046 was issued to the Municipality of Central Huron for hosting Gateway Casinos Clinton. Since the gaming site opened in August 2000, Central Huron has received $14,351,631.

OLG says in a media release that these payments to host communities "are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site."

Since 1994, host communities with OLG gaming sites have received over $2.5 billion in non-tax gaming revenue, according to OLG.
