Dashwood woman wins $250,000

A resident of the Municipality of Bluewater won a quarter of a million dollars recently, scratching an Instant Crossword.

Debra McNair of Dashwood won the game's top prize of $250,000, after playing Instant Crossword for decades.

"I’ve shared the news with a few friends, but I was waiting until the cheque was in my hands before telling anyone else," said McNair. "I know I’ve won, but it truly hasn’t sunk in yet. You always dream of things like this, but you never actually think it’ll happen to you."

The mother of three and grandmother of three purchased the winning ticket at Circle K on Ontario Street North in Grand Bend.

She says her plan for her timely winnings includes investing and a tech upgrade.

"This win came at a great time for me," said McNair. "I'll be able to pay my bills and still have money to save. I also plan to buy a new computer."
