The Municipality of North Perth has announced enhanced fire safety initiatives.
In a release, North Perth shares that council has endorsed mitigation strategies intended to reduce grain bin and silo emergencies in the area.
Some of the strategies include the creation of a public safety announcement focused on grain bin safety, continued collaboration with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, the promotion of low-cost Confined Space Awareness, and Lock-Out Tag-Out course offerings locally, and the addition of six 4-gas meters available for loan from the North Perth Public Library.
Those interested in participating in Confined Space Entry and/or Lock-Out Tag Out training courses are encouraged to register by visiting www.set7.ca or emailing [email protected]. Both courses will be offered at the Elma Memorial Community Centre in Atwood in early March. In April, 4-gas meters will be available for loan at the three branches of the North Perth Public Library.
