Former employee accused of scamming North Perth business out of over $50K

A Monkton woman has been charged with fraud after a business in the Municipality of North Perth was scammed out of more than $50,000, allegedly by a former employee.

Perth OPP were called to investigate the incident at the company on Monday.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old woman from Monkton is charged with fraud over $5,000. She is scheduled to appear in Stratford court in relation to the charge on March 10.

Police did not release the name of the business that was defrauded.

Investigators are asking anyone with information related to this investigation to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
