Bruce Power has donated just over $73,000 to local charities following a recent soccer event.
Back on September 28, Bruce Power and its supplier companies and partners fielded 22 teams for the Challenger Cup soccer event in Kincardine, with the goal of raising funds for local organizations.
As a result of the tournament, the money raised has been distributed to United Way of Bruce Grey, Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, and the Saugeen First Nation Food Bank and Nawash Unceded First Nation Food Bank.
Bruce Power says the Challenger Cup will return in 2025.
“We’re thrilled that a day of fun and exciting soccer competition has also been able to benefit organizations in our community that are focused on helping those in need,” said David Furr, Bruce Power’s Vice-President, Supply Chain. “Thank you to all of the Bruce Power Challenger Cup organizers, sponsors and participants for making this event a win-win for everyone involved.”
