Grey Bruce OPP seize over $26K of drugs

More than $26,000 worth of drugs have been taken off the streets.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) seized the drugs and arrested two residents of Saugeen First Nation on November 14.

Police said the arrest happened on Highway 21 in Saugeen First Nation heading towards Saugeen Shores when they learned of the location of a person of interest involved in drug trafficking. When officers pulled the vehicle over, it was determined that the passenger was also a person of interest.

In a search, during the arrest, OPP said quantities of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone capsules, dilaudid pills, morphine pills, and drug paraphernalia were found.

A 46-year-old and a 37-year-old face the following charges:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin)

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine

  • Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking

  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose (x2)

Both individuals were released from police custody with December 11 court dates.
