Lakeshore Triathlon gives back to host community

The Lakeshore Triathlon has donated more than $10,000 to the Saugeen Shores community.

The funds come from the successful event in Saugeen Shores on July 20, 2024.

“We are excited every year to execute our race where women of any age and ability are able to compete. A close second to the completion of the race is the donations we are able to make from our race proceeds,” said Sarah Foster, Race Director for the Lakeshore Triathlon. “This year, we are pleased to be able to donate $13,500 to local community organizations, almost double the amount we were able to donate back last year.”

“We are so appreciative of the support we receive to put on the race, that also allows us to give back to where we run our race," added Foster.

Organizations that supported the event on race day were among the recipients, with $1,000 each for the Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club, Blue Water Rescue, and the Bruce Shrine Club.

St. John Ambulance received $500.

The triathlon also gave $5,000 each to the Kabaeshiwim Respite Women's Shelter on Saugeen First Nation and the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey.

The Lakeshore Triathlon is launching new branding around the race, with local designer A. Richards Consulting creating what is being described as a "simple, yet elegant design." A new website, including information about the 2025 race, will be launched on November 1.
