Work temporarily blocks Lindsay Tract trail access

A project to upgrade the Lindsay Tract will impact trail access between Ira Lake Road and Bradley Drive.

Bruce County has reported the section will be closed between October 2, 2024 and October 4, 2024 for the replacement of two culverts on Spring Creek.

Workers will replace two undersized and blocked culverts with a new arch culvert that will create a proper crossing over Spring Creek. The work is expected to enhance the fishing habitat and spawning grounds by improving water flow and ensuring that the aquatic environment remains healthy and accessible. Additional improvements will also be made at the culvert approaches to improve trail accessibility to ensure long term sustainability.

“This important stream restoration work within the Spring Creek Watershed will greatly improve conditions for Brook Trout and other fish in the area,” said Minister Todd McCarthy, who has taken on ministerial duties for the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks while Minister Andrea Khanjin is on parental leave. “This impressive project is another great example of how the Ontario Community Environment Fund is helping to make a positive impact in communities across the province.”

There will be no trail access in this location and no bypass will be placed during the closure.

This project has received funding support from the Government of Ontario. Bruce County apologizes for any inconveniences that these restrictions may have.
