One person has been arrested following an OPP investigation that revealed the location of a drug lab.
On September 9 just before 6:30 p.m., South Bruce OPP officers responded to a report of an assault involving a firearm.
Following that, police executed a search warrant on September 11 at a home in Walkerton. A 51-year-old resident of Walkerton was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing.
During the search of the home, officers discovered what police are calling a "clandestine drug laboratory." With the assistance of the Walkerton Fire Department, Bruce County Paramedic Services, and Health Canada, police are in the process of safely removing the lab.
Police crews remain in the area of Jackson Street and Durham Street, but they stress there is no threat to public safety and traffic will not be disrupted. The OPP has not specified what type of drug lab was discovered.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
