Bayfield to hold arts festival on Main Street

A new festival coming to Bayfield later this month is being billed as a celebration of local art, music, and food.

The Main Street Arts Festival will take over the town's main strip from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on September 22. Hosted by the County of Huron and Huron Arts and Heritage Network, this is the festival's inaugural year.

“Whether you're an art aficionado, a music lover, or just looking to enjoy some delicious bites, we've got something for everyone,” Karen Stewart, the county's cultural development officer, said in a statement.

The day will offer festival-goers a chance to meet local artists, see street performers who will be roaming the promenade, and try food and cocktails from local vendors. There will also be live music from local bands Jellybean Blue and the Maitland Holler, as well as all-ages art classes. Area Galleries, studios, and retailers will be open for extended hours throughout the festival.

Funds for the newly created art festival were provided by the federal government through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
