Covid outbreak over at local hospital

A Covid-19 outbreak at the Clinton Public Hospital is over.

A release from the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance shares that the outbreak had been declared on the Inpatient Unit on August 9th, 2024.

The Inpatient Unit has been reopened to admissions and transfers. Family and caregiver presence on the unit has also been restored.

Masks must still be worn in all clinical areas within HPHA sites. This includes inpatient units, emergency departments, outpatient clinics, imaging areas, labs, and waiting rooms. Medical-grade masks are available at entrances and masking stations throughout the hospital.

“To protect our patients and staff from hospital-acquired respiratory infections, it’s essential to adhere to masking protocols during medical appointments and visits,” said Erica Jensen, Manager Quality, Patient Safety & Infection Control. “This includes wearing a mask while in the patient’s room. If you’re feeling unwell or experiencing any symptoms, we strongly recommend postponing your visit until you’ve recovered.”
