A handful of local beaches are still deemed unsafe.

According to Huron Beach Info on "X" (formerly Twitter), there are still 5 local Midwestern Ontario beaches that aren't safe to swim at because of high bacteria levels.

Recently, 8 local beaches were found to have high levels of unsafe bacteria, but following testing done on July 31, that has been cut down to 5.

Those beaches that are still deemed unfit for swimming include Ashfield Township Park, Houston Heights, St. Joseph’s, Hay Township Park, and Port Blake.

A re-sample will be conducted August 2 to ensure the most up-to-date results heading into the Civic Holiday Long Weekend.
