Municipality celebrates newly renovated ball diamonds

Perth East celebrated some newly renovated ball diamonds in the area.

An Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant in 2023 awarded the municipality nearly $140,000 to help with the replacement of ball diamond fencing, player benches and spectator stands at the Lyle Yost Memorial Park in Millbank.

The work replaced the diamond fencing, player benches and stands at two of the diamonds at the park.

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae visited the newly renovated park on July 15 to congratulate Perth East staff and the community on the newly renovated diamonds.

“This investment by our provincial government will ensure young and old can continue to enjoy the Lyle Yost Memorial Park,” said Rae. “This funding is a testament to our government’s continued support of our community and recreational infrastructure. Congratulations to the Township of Perth East on receiving this Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital grant.”

“We couldn’t be happier to receive the ongoing support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation who continues to be an important part of contributing to our community’s recreation vision,” added Rhonda Ehgoetz, Mayor of the Township of Perth East. “This grant has allowed needed improvements to be made to this facility. The Lyle Yost Memorial Ball Park is a very well used facility in the Perth East community and can continue to be in a safe manner.”
