OPP conduct Easter traffic enforcement campaign

Local OPP detachments will be looking for drivers disobeying the rules of the road during the Provincial Easter Long Weekend Traffic Safety Campaign.

All members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police will take part between Friday, March 29 through Monday April 1.

The goal is to increase public awareness and compliance with safe driving practices.

Officers will focus on the top four dangerous driving behaviors, which are speeding, aggressive driving, inattentive/distracted driving, alcohol/drug-impaired drivers as well as lack of or improper use of seatbelts.

Police warn these driving behaviours are main causes of death and injury on Canadian roadways.

In 2023 Grey Bruce OPP issued 128 charges over the Easter Long Weekend Campaign with 22 seatbelt related charges.
