Man charged with manslaughter in connection to overdose death

Owen Sound Police have charged a Grey County resident with manslaughter in connection to an overdose death earlier this month.

On March 5, emergency services responded to a drug overdose at an apartment on the lower west side of the city.

The 37-year-old Owen Sound resident was transported to Brightshores Health Systems, where he was pronounced dead.

The Criminal Investigations Branch commenced an investigation which led to a 27-year-old man being arrested. He was charged with trafficking fentanyl and manslaughter.

The man was remanded into custody and will appear in court later this month.
