North Huron man charged following Wingham attempted robbery

Huron County OPP have laid charges following an attempted robbery at a business on Josephine Street in Wingham.

The incident took place around 6 a.m. on March 8.

Police said a suspect entered the store and handed over a note, demanding money. It looked like the person had a concealed weapon.

After being told there was no money in the store, the suspect ran from the scene.

The suspect was on the loose, but police arrested them in Wingham on March 11. A search of their home turned up evidence from the robbery.

A 36-year-old North Huron man is now facing seven counts of failure to comply with probation and one count of robbery with intent.
