Dog in Walkerton biting incident sought

The Municipality of Brockton is requesting the public’s help locating the owner of a dog that was involved in a biting incident in Walkerton on Wednesday.

Around about 1:30 p.m. a person was bitten by a dog while walking down Durham St West.

The victim described the dog as a smaller black German Shepherd mix.

It was wearing a blue harness and on a leash at the time of the incident. The dog was being walked by a woman in her mid-40s, had red/brown hair and wearing a black jacket.

The victim reportedly did not seek medical attention for the bite, which is why the notice wasn't issued by the Health Unit.

The Municipality has contacted Grey Bruce Public Health and will work to confirm the dog is not infectious with the rabies virus.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the Municipality's Animal Control Officer at 519-881-2223 ext. 141.
