After what was a gorgeous stretch of early spring weather, winter is making its return.
Several alerts have been issued for Midwestern Ontario.
Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth, and Northern Wellington Counties are all under a snow squall warning. Southern Wellington County is under a special weather statement.
Forecasters outlined a sharp cold front with strong winds, up to 80 kilometres per hour, and peak snowfall rates of 3 to 5 centimetres per hour.
The Bruce Peninsula and Northern Grey County could see between 20 and 50 cm of snow accumulate, while other areas including South Grey, South Bruce, North Wellington, Huron, and Perth Counties should expect 15 to 30 cm.
"Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common," the weather agency said.
Environment Canada said the snowfall could last into Thursday morning.
