UPDATE: Travel advisory ended for portions of midwestern Ontario

While a winter weather travel advisory has been lifted for people in Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth, residents might want to keep their gloves and hats handy.

According to Environment Canada, a winter weather travel advisory has been lifted for residents in Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, Southern Bruce County, and those in Huron County.

A snow squall watch remains in place for the region.

Snow squalls are expected to redevelop overnight Saturday and into Sunday.

"Strong westerly winds gusting up to 70 km/h are also expected tonight into Sunday which will lead to significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow," said Environment Canada.

Snowfall accumulations were expected to reach five centimetres on Friday night, with another five to ten centimetres on Saturday.

Travel could become hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather, and reduced visibility is possible in heavy snow.

The weather agency advises that if visibility is reduced while driving to slow down, watch for tail lights ahead, and be prepared to stop.
