Chesley emergency department closed Wednesday

The Chesley Hospital emergency department will be closed Valentine's Day due to staffing shortages.

The ED will be closed on Wednesday reopening on Thursday, February 15, at 7 a.m.

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says ambulance by-pass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open emergency department.

Chesley closed its ED twice last week due to staffing shortages. It only operates on a Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule, because of the ongoing human resource issues.

SBGHC says it will be taking part in the Grey County job fair tomorrow, in an effort to recruit more healthcare help.
