North Huron woman charged in impaired hit and run

A 43-year-old North Huron woman is facing charges following a hit and run on Minnie Street in Wingham at the end of January.

On the evening of January 28, Huron County OPP were called about a collision. When they got to the scene, they found a parked vehicle that had been damaged.

Police said the second vehicle didn't stay on scene, but a damaged vehicle matching the suspect description was found nearby.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

After further testing, the 43-year-old was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired - over 80, dangerous driving, and failing to remain on scene.

The accused's vehicle was also impounded for one week and their driver's licence suspended for 90 days.
