Huron County OPP have charged a driver from Strathroy after an investigation into a serious crash in October of 2023.
On October 26, police responded alongside Huron County Paramedic Services and the Bluewater Fire Department to the intersection of Kippen Road and Morrison Line in Huron East after receiving reports of a collision.
Crews arrived to find a pick-up truck and a dump truck both heavily damaged. Both drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigation revealed that the pick-up truck was travelling southbound on Morrison Line and failed to stop at the stop sign at Kippen Road. The pickup truck was hit by the eastbound dump truck, causing both vehicles to enter the ditch and strike a hydro pole.
As a result, a 41-year-old from Strathroy has been charged with Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich to answer to the charge.
