CKNX AM 920 signal picked up in Austria

A resident from Salzburg, Austria says he was able to pick up the signal from our CKNX AM 920 broadcast.

Christoph Ratzer picked up the radio signal on January 21 at about 8 p.m. and was receiving a Mediumwave signal from the Wingham AM transmitter

He heard and recorded a CKNX station identifier and then a snippet of the song, "What's Forever For" by Michael Martin Murphey.

"Your engineering part does a perfect job with your transmitter and antenna to reach central Europe - even if it is not your target area," he said in an email to CKNX News. "To receive your station, I use my receiving station with a WinRadio Excalibur G33 SDR receiver and a 200 meter long wire 'Beverage' antenna."

The 60-year-old has been interested in remote radio stations for 42 years.
