Local Optimist Club joins Dolly Parton book program

The Howick Optimist Club has joined a new program to benefit children in their community.

The club announced they have joined the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book program. Parents can sign up children up to the age of 5 to receive a free book delivered monthly to your home.

Parton announced the Canadian expansion of her Imagination Library program in Toronto in 2006, with a goal of "inspiring a love of reading in young children," according to the website for the program.
