A Stratford youth has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking another teen with a hatchet.
Local police say they received a call around 4 p.m. on Monday about an attack at a residence on Louise Street.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and ran from the area before seeking help from a stranger and calling the police.
Officials say the accused, a 16-year-old from Stratford, was known to the victim and that there is no further risk to public safety.
The accused was taken into custody shortly after and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
