Owen Sound business owner seriously injured during vicious assault

Police in Owen Sound are probing a downtown assault that left a business owner seriously injured.

According to investigators, police were called to a business on Second Avenue near Ninth Avenue East at around 9 p.m. Thursday for a report of an assault.

When officers arrived, they learned three White male suspects had attended the store when an argument ensued. The owner was allegedly assaulted by the men outside the business before they took off.

The victim was located seriously wounded and he was taken to hospital in London with critical injuries.

Police are seeking possible witnesses who might have seen the altercation, or who might know the identity of the three accused.

Additionally, those who might have been in the downtown area of Owen Sound between 9 to 9:45 p.m. August 17 with a dash cam is asked to review their footage and contact police if they come across something that may assist with the investigation.
