Stratford man wins $100,000

A Stratford man won $100,000 after matching six of seven Encore numbers last month.

Steven McFadden, a 56-year-old production assistant, won his prize in the July 22 Ontario 49 draw.

“I was in shock! I checked my ticket a handful of times and had to calm myself down,” said McFadden. “When I validated my ticket, the machine froze. The cashier was thrilled and said it was the first win he’d seen at the store!”

McFadden's winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven on Erie Street in Stratford.

He says he plans to manage his finances with the winnings.

“I look forward to the security this win will provide. It’s life-changing and gives me peace of mind,” he said.
