Lions Club donates AED to town

The Sauble Beach District Lions Club has made a generous donation.

The club has donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device for the Sauble Beach Town Square.

According to data from the Heart and Stroke Foundation, over 35,000 people experience a cardiac arrest each year outside of hospital settings. AEDs are critical life saving devices that can help revive someone experiencing cardiac arrest in public. Having an AED nearby can double the chances of survival.

Publicly accessible AEDs can be found in Sauble Beach at the Sauble Beach Community Centre, the town square, and the tennis courts at the north end of the beach.

“Publicly accessible AED’s save lives and we thank the Sauble Beach District Lion’s Club for this generous donation,” said Mayor Garry Michi.
