Bluewater District School Board names new superintendent

The Bluewater District School Board has appointed a new Superintendent of Education for the upcoming school year.

Wendy Louwerse will officially assume the position on September 1, 2023.

Louwerse began her teaching career at Osprey Central School in 2002. She also taught at Spruce Ridge Community School before moving into administrative positions, including Chesley District Community School Principal.

Most recently, she held the role of Learning Services Administrator.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the students, their families, and the staff of Bluewater District School Board,” said Louwerse in a release. “I am passionate about providing the best learning experiences for all our students and working together with staff to provide quality instruction in our schools. With a variety of experience and background, I look forward to supporting students and schools through my contributions to the senior team.”

Louwerse is taking over for retiring Superintendent of Education Andrea Tang.
