The town of St. Marys is preparing for its annual Canada Day celebration. It will take place on Saturday, July 1, at Cadzow Park.
The day will kick off at 11 a.m. with the Canada Day parade. It will leave the Pyramid Recreation Centre and make it's way towards the park. Entering a float is free and you can do so until June 23.
After the parade, music will fill the area with performances from La Grove, Paul Droog, and York Street Process.
Between acts, the flag will rise at 12:30 p.m. with the national anthem being sung by Patsy Anne Day. She will also lead a land welcoming ceremony to acknowledge the town's Indigenous homelands.
Activities for the whole family will be offered. Kids can look forward to things like an inflatable jumper and arts and crafts with Paint and Palette.
The splash pad and museum will both be open all day.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided after the flag raising ceremony. If you're looking for something more, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will be holding a fundraising barbeque. The Sunset Shack will also have food available.
