The recent extremely dry conditions prompted the ban, which means no burning is permitted, other than recreational cooking fires.
The ban will be in place until further notice or conditions improve. There is a chance of rain in the forecast as the week wears on.
Wellington joins Bruce and Huron Counties in the banning of outdoor burning. Open fires are still permitted in Perth and Grey Counties.
