Damage to local park results in charges to youths

Perth County OPP charged several youths following damage done at a local park.

On April 18 at 3:20 p.m., officers began investigating a case of mischief that had been reported at a pavilion in North Perth. Officers were able to determine that two youths came to the park and caused damage to the pavilion by pulling and kicking stones from the wall.

As a result, two 14-year-olds were both charged with Mischief Under $5,000.

One youth can have the charges diverted if they complete a Youth Criminal Justice Act Program. The other youth must appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
