Man in custody following serial sexual assault investigation

West Grey Police have arrested a 48-year old man as they continue to investigate a serial sexual assault case.

Police responded to a sexual assault call on January 31, 2023. According to police, a 48-year old man allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old.

As the investigation continues, more victims have come forward. But, police are concerned there still could be more.

The assaults allegedly happened in Grey and Bruce counties.

James Edward Tomes, 48, of West Grey faces three counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference, and one count of sexual exploitation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Grey Police or Crime Stoppers.
