Canadian Blood Services holding upcoming donation events

Canadian Blood Services has three upcoming blood donation events in Midwestern Ontario.

CBS says that the holiday and winter season is a critical time for blood donations. The organization says a recent survey it conducted concluded that 62 percent of respondents believe donating blood and plasma over the holidays is important, but roughly only 10 percent plan to do so.

A donation event is planned for Tuesday, January 3 at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex, from 3 p.m. to 8p.m. Another event is on January 4 at the Owen Sound Legion from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Also, on Saturday, January 28, another donation event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Highpoint Community School in Dundalk.

The donation events are by appointment only. You can book an appointment on blood.ca or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE.
