SIU called in to investigate death of Wellington North man

The province's Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate the death of a 47-year-old man from Wellington North.

On November 26 at 10 p.m., Wellington County OPP officers responded to a home on Concession Road 7 following reports that a man who lived in the home was causing damage to the inside of the home. Officers surrounded the home and closed the roadway, and made multiple attempts to make contact with the man. After several hours, members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit entered the home and found the male deceased in the bathroom.

The SIU has confirmed that two investigators and a forensic investigator have been assigned to this case. Two witness officials have been identified and interviewed by the SIU.
