Huron Shores Hospice brings back Handbags for Hospice event

After a three year COVID-19 hiatus, the Huron Shores Hospice is bringing back a popular event.

The Handbags for Hospice event will take place Thursday, September 15th at the Kincardine Pavilion on Durham Street. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a silent auction of over 100 designer handbags and opportunities to participate in the live auction. A short program will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the live auction taking place at 7:30 p.m. In 2019, the last time the event was held, it raised over $160,000 for the Huron Shores Hospice.  The event sold out within a few hours of tickets being released.

All the funds raised are used for the operation of the Huron Shores Hospice's two-bed residential hospice suites at Tiverton Park Manor and for community programming, including Grief Recovery, End of Life Doula services, Death Cafes and End-of-Life Planning workshops. You can find out more information on Huron Shores Hospice and how to donate by contacting Cheryl Cottrill, Co-Chair of Huron Shores Hospice, at 519-368-7762 or email cheryl@huronshoreshospice.ca.
