Local museum introducing new kayak tours to explore local history

The St. Marys Museum is introducing new kayak heritage tours to go with their annual walking heritage tours this summer.

In a release, the museum says " in partnership with the Yak Shack, Museum staff will lead guided heritage kayak tours at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10th, and Friday, June 24th. If the program proves popular, the Museum hopes to continue it into the summer." The cost per person is $15 and that includes a kayak, safety gear and the tour from museum staff.  The Museum is encouraging first-time kayakers to try kayaking prior to registering for a tour. To try a kayak for free, you can reserve one online at discoverstmarys.ca/yakshack.

Anyone wishing to take a guided heritage kayak tour should pre-register as space is limited. To register and learn more, call the St. Marys Museum at 519-284-3556.
