Saugeen Shores Police launching education and enforcement initiative

On Friday, May 6th, the Saugeen Shores Police Service is launching an education and enforcement initiative, dubbed "Operation Spring Cleaning", targeting vehicle equipment, permits and licensing.

SSPS reminds residents that although the Ontario Government has eliminated plate renewal fees, vehicle owners still need to renew their plates every one or two years, at no cost, to confirm valid insurance and pay any outstanding tolls or municipal fines.

Officers say they will also be looking for loud or improper mufflers, improper mudguards, plates improperly displayed, windshield coatings, and unsafe vehicles.

This initiative will last until Thursday, May 19th.
